October News Letter

Hi Everyone,

Q1 wrapped up yesterday. This month we cover your October BAS dates, what payday super means for your business, and one scam rule worth remembering.

October 2026 BAS due dates calendar

📅 Your October dates

  • 21 October: September BAS due (monthly lodgers)
  • 28 October: July–September BAS due if you lodge it yourself
  • 31 October: 2025–26 tax return due if you lodge it yourself

If BookkeepersNet lodges your BAS, you get extra time: your quarterly BAS isn’t due until 25 November. Get your paperwork to us early in October and we’ll handle the rest.

💰 The big one: payday super is now in place

Payday super now paid with every pay run

So if you’ve been planning to “catch up on super before 28 October”, that deadline no longer exists. Any super for July to September that hasn’t been paid is already late.

Do this today: open your payroll and check that super went out with every pay run since July. If it didn’t, contact us and we’ll help you sort it before it becomes a bigger problem.

🤖 AI & Bookkeeping — What’s Coming

AI and bookkeeping for business

AI is starting to change the way bookkeeping works — and over the coming months I’ll be sharing exactly what that means for your business.

The short version: less time on the repetitive stuff, faster and more accurate books, and more time for the things that actually need a human. More on this next month. ☕

🔒 One scam rule to remember

ATO scam warning about myGov links

The ATO won’t send you a text or email with a link to log in to myGov. If you get one, don’t click it. Go to the ATO website yourself.

💬 Over to you

What’s the one bookkeeping job you keep putting off? Contact us and tell me. I read every one, and the most common answer will be next month’s tip.
